Colombia’s Independence Day


On July 20 , 1810 , Colombian patriots stirred up the population of Bogotá into street protests Against Spanish rule . The Viceroy , under pressure , was forced to agree to allow for a limited independence later Which Became permanent. Today , July 20 is Celebrated in Colombia as Independence Day.



El 20 de julio de 1810, los patriotas colombianos incitaron a la población de Bogotá a protestas callejeras contra el dominio español. El Virrey, bajo presión, se vio obligado a ponerse de acuerdo para permitir una independencia limitada, la cual se convirtió después en permanente. Hoy, el 20 de julio se celebra en Colombia como el Día de la Independencia.
