Almost one year has passed since a devastating earthquake struck Ecuador on April 16, 2016: more than 660 died and many thousands lost their homes and livelihoods.
A concerned group of Calgarians, with personal and professional connections to Ecuador, got together to start planning a local fundraiser to raise both awareness and money for the ongoing recovery/rebuilding efforts in Ecuador. Their financial goal is approximately $11,000+.
This fundraiser will be held at the John Dutton Theatre on Saturday, April 22.
- Tango by “Leo Sato & Marina”
- Andean Folk Music by “Frontera Sur” group
- Mexican Mariachi singer “Gisela Romero”
- Duo “TakeDos”, and
- Colombian dances by “Así Es Colombia” dance group.
Tickets: $40 in advance and $50 at the door. All proceeds will be donated through Scouts to help in the efforts of reconstruction after the devastating earthquakes in Ecuador last year.
