Calgary, AB T2G 2M2

Almost one year has passed since a devastating earthquake struck Ecuador on April 16, 2016: more than 660 died and many thousands lost their homes and livelihoods.

A concerned group of Calgarians, with personal and professional connections to Ecuador, got together to start planning a local fundraiser to raise both awareness and money for the ongoing recovery/rebuilding efforts in Ecuador. Their financial goal is approximately $11,000+.

This fundraiser will be held at the John Dutton Theatre on Saturday, April 22.

Performers include:

  • Tango by “Leo Sato & Marina”
  • Andean Folk Music by “Frontera Sur” group
  • Mexican Mariachi singer “Gisela Romero”
  • Duo “TakeDos”, and
  • Colombian dances by “Así Es Colombia” dance group.

Tickets: $40 in advance and $50 at the door. All proceeds will be donated through Scouts to help in the efforts of reconstruction after the devastating earthquakes in Ecuador last year. If you would like to help by sponsoring the event, or just donating or buying tickets, please enter www.hopeatzero.ca or call  at (403) 237-7691.

Beneficiary: Association of Scouts Ecuador to help their leaders and members in the affected areas strengthen their capabilities to continue building their organization.
